Circular opportunities for maritime: building blocks for business, now and in the future!
Circularity is thé opportunity to secure our leading position in the international maritime sector. We can create added value for companies and the sector leveraging materials and value retention in a smarter way.
With added value for the maritime sector as a starting point, we spoke to 30 market parties, network and sector organisations, knowledge institutions and owners of political-strategic agendas. We found promising starting points, so let’s cooperate in a smart way and convert these ‘circular opportunities for maritime’ into sustainable business. As Thecla Bodewes (Leader Top Sector Water & Maritime and owner Thecla Bodewes Shipyards) stated in our conversation: “If we want to be the best in 10 years’ time, we have to take this into account NOW!”
You can read all about this in our exploration ‘Circular opportunities for the maritime industry’, which we executed in collaboration with BlueCity (010) on behalf of the Province of South Holland.
The full report can be found here.
And this report is ‘only’ the start. In the coming period, we will continue to work with the sector to further grow and mature the theme and help pioneers (further) advance. So step forward if you are working on circularity, need help or want to start! Contact us at: [email protected].

About the province of South Holland
Building a powerful province. Where it is good to live, work and live for everyone. Now and in the future. The province is looking for new ways to tackle the challenges they face in South Holland together. Where they learn by doing, show courage and are not afraid for innovation. They use everyone’s talent and expertise, because sometimes others are better at a certain task. In this way they show what is possible when you cooperate on that future. This way they strengthen each other and work together for the best result: a powerful and sustainable South Holland.
